Frequently Asked Questions

You might be wondering….

1.What does your service do?

We are a service for women conveniently located in the heart of Sydney, near Central Station.  We provide women together with their family and friends with information and resources regarding an unplanned pregnancy.

We are a support and referral service for pregnancy.

We are also a service for women who are seeking assistance with the experiences of pregnancy loss, through miscarriage, stillbirth or abortion.

2. What is the need?

Our assessment of the need is that an unplanned pregnancy for many women is a time of intense emotional distress. Pressures can come from partners, family or friends to seek an abortion. We believe that she alone must live with the consequences of her decision, therefore she needs time and information to assess what to do.

It is also our understanding that often women seek abortion simply because they don’t feel they have the support to go through with their pregnancy. We want to be a voice that says that we’ll support you.

3. What service can I expect to receive at the centre?

When you book an appointment in our Surry Hills centre it will consist of a confidential meeting with one of our trained volunteers. You may have many questions and concerns. We are wiling to take the time that it needs to work through these with you. If you are just coming for some basic information, this may only go for 5 minutes. If you are visiting for pregnancy support, we will be able to outline to you all your options and the help that is available. Free pregnancy tests will be available on site, should you wish to have one.

4. How do I make an appointment?

Give us a call or send us an message on the home page of this site. You can also ‘drop in’ to the centre in Sydney during our opening hours from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday.
